Whether or not a Pool Table is an “Antique Pool Table” or not has more to do with its construction, rather than its age or style.

There are 3 things to look for:

  1. The pockets of an Antique Pool Table are held in place with tabs, as shown with the BLUE arrows in the first photo below.
  2. The pockets of an Antique Pool Table form the Corners, as shown with the GREEN arrow.
  3. The Rails are held in place with bolts are are typically covered by visible Rosettes along the side of the table, as shown with the RED arrow. Note that sometimes the rosettes are missing and you will just see the bolt. The rosettes / bolts are spaced all around the table as shown in the second photo.
